I’ve decided to try to stay close to home and paint for the time being. I often find that when I go off to paint I may drive around for too long trying to decide what to paint or figure out where to park. I find it much better to limit where I go, I may stay right in the yard or walk close to home. Beforehand I may pick a place and find something interesting there. Some of my best work happens when I make a quick decision as to what I want to paint and then just go to it. You can really find a great painting wherever you are … it’s up to you to see it there.
